Captivation: My Video + Film Experience.
From my years in school to the world of entertainment - videography is a skill I have deep dived into countless times. As an actor, writer, camera operator or editor, it is a field with many completed projects I am very proud of.
This project, crafted alongside some of my classmates while attending University, was our collaborative endeavor for the culmination of our final exam. Our objective as a team was to produce a gritty detective film that would serve as a comprehensive showcase of the skills we had acquired throughout the semester.
The journey to complete this film spanned three intense weeks, involving every aspect from initial storyboarding to the meticulous final edits. Despite our status as film amateurs, we take pride in the polished end result.
Personally, I played a pivotal role in shaping the narrative, crafting the script, scouting locations, operating both sound and camera equipment, and overseeing the entire editing process. Hours were dedicated to meticulously syncing recorded sound with the footage in Premiere Pro, and I made careful selections for the accompanying music and sound effects.
In terms of this project, I helped assist with a ton of the story as we were looking for something more light hearted and fun.
Although acting isn’t my strongest skill, I portrayed a humorous role and was only one of many big parts I had taken on.
I played a big part in creating the script, assist with directing and provided tons of input on editing in Premiere Pro, making sure to sync sound with our story to make sure every line was where it needed to be.
